Understanding Prostate Cancer


Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men and is the second leading cause of cancer death in men. The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 192,000 new cases of prostate cancer and more than 27,000 deaths resulting from the disease will occur during 2009.

September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and now is a good time to learn the facts about prostate cancer and its prevention.

In this video, Dr. Winston Tan, an oncologist at Mayo Clinic in Florida, provides an overview of the prostate gland, cancer risk factors, screening, diagnosis and treatment options and why Mayo Clinic should be considered as a treatment destination for this disease.

    All treatment options should be looked at by patients that need prostate cancer treatment. There are too many options not to look at that may prevent incontinence and impotence, i.e. preserving your life!

    Medical/Clinical Oncologists all over the world strike the same problem. OncoRadiologists and Surgeons are trying to follow their own guidelines. I thought it was the problem only in post soviet union countries.. 🙂
