A Surgeon’s Appreciation

by

Dr. Bob Christensen is an oral/maxillofacial surgeon from the Denver area who recently had surgery for aortic valve stenosis at Mayo Clinic. Upon his return home, and just two weeks after surgery, he sent an email to the surgeon who led the team, Dr. Hartzell Schaff, and included a link to a video he had produced for YouTube about what he called “the great care at Mayo….A number of people have already responded how spry and well I looked for such a short time after that kind of surgical treatment. Thank you and all of you staff.”

Two weeks later he produced another video, which he called “One Surgeon’s Appreciation to Mayo Clinic,” and which is embedded below:

Here is the first video, to which Dr. Christensen refers in the video above.

One Response to “A Surgeon’s Appreciation”

  1. Jill J. Says:

We all understand that healthcare in America in most lacking, yet Dr. Christensen continues to do whatever he can to try to help the situation and even despite that he’s just had a major heart surgery. Good for you, Dr. Christensen! As for the gal that commented on this first video, rather rudely, I might add, I would like to tell her that as one still awaiting my own overdue, expensive and complicated surgery, Dr. Christensen has kindly kept in constant contact with me throughout the duration of my 2-year painful ordeal. He constantly emails words of encouragement and I just don’t know what I’d have done without him. Thanks, Dr. Christensen. Jill J.
